Freelance 800F Quickstart is meant to help you with a quick and efficient start with

Freelance 800F, the compact Control System from ABB. This DVD contains

several videos which will guide you learning to work with the system.



The DVD will start automatically. If not, start the Autoplay.exe from the root

directory.



In addition to watching the videos, we recommend that you perform your own exercises.

You can do this, if you have installed a licensed or demo software of Freelance 800F.

You find the software under the menu item "Demo Software" in den Main Menu.

Project Files:

You will find the project files, we used for the videos in the "Quickstart/Projects/EN" directory. These

are created with version 8 of Freelance 800F. If you use the same software, you can directly

open the project files with the extension ".PRO". If you use a newer version, this might

not be possible. Then take the ".CSV" files instead and import them into a new project.





Requirements:

The videos use the Windows Media Video 9 codec, which allows very small file size. This

codec is supported by Windows Media Player of version 9 or later. If you do not have

it installed yet, download the Media Player from www.microsoft.com.





PLEASE NOTE:

------------

During installation you mostly can select the default settings

and continue. But in one dialog (DigiVis Autostart) it is very important that you select:



No, start DigiVis manually.





Because you only have a demo system and no real operator station.



If you have selected “automatically” you will need a special

user name to log on to your PC.



Type Administrator as user name and leave the password empty.



Then open the configuration dialog to revert the settings to manually:

Start – Programs – ABB Industrial IT – Configure



Then Select Digivis – DigiVis Autostart and then "No, start DigiVis manually."
