The late, great John Candy delivered the most surprising performance of his career 
as Danny Muldoon, a lonely Chicago policeman who still lives with his mother (screen 
legend Maureen O'Hara in her first movie role in 20 years). But when Danny falls in 
love with a shy funeral home cosmetologist (Ally Sheedy), his sharp-tongued mom will 
do anything to sabotage her son's newfound happiness. Even with the advice of his 
sex-obsessed partner (James Belushi) and the example of his lusty neighbor (Oscar®-winner 
Anthony Quinn), can Danny find a way to follow his own heart without killing the meanest 
mother of all?

Macaulay Culkin makes a cameo appearance in this unique romantic comedy written and 
directed by Chris Columbus (director of Home Alone) and produced by John Hughes, the 
creator of Uncle Buck, The Breakfast Club, and Planes, Trains, & Automobiles.
