Plot: Jennings (Ben Afleck) is the best reverse-engineer in the business. He is hired by clients to take apart other companies technologies and find out how they work. He is hired to do a special job, against the advice of some of his associates. When the job is completed, all memory of what he has been working on is ereased from his mind. That's when his problem really start to begin. He is hunted for something he has no recollection of doing and has only a little time to work it out. He has sent himself 19 seemingly unconnected objects, before his memory was wiped, to allow him to put the puzzle together and discover just what has gone on and what he has done. But the authorities are after him and time is very quickly running out.

Michael Jennings (Ben Affleck) este vanat dar nu stie de ce. El este un fel de geniu in high tech si lucreaza pentru diverse companii care il folosesc la proiecte speciale si secrete. Bine platit pentru munca lui, se asteapta la un salariu cu 8 cifre pentru ultimul proiect la care a lucrat peste 3 ani.
Dar in loc sa primeasca cecul asteptat primeste un plic cu obiecte disparate si i se spune ca de fapt a fost de acord sa renunte la suma ce i se cuvenea.
Cu memoria stearsa Jennings nu gaseste metoda de a se apara pana cand descopera ca obiectele primite sunt legate de trecutul sau.
Acum cu ajutorul lui Rachel (Uma Thurman) femeia cu care a lucrat si pe care o iubeste de trei ani, Jennings intra intr-o cursa contratimp pentru a asambla un puzzle care este viata sa, inainte ca cei ce l-au angajat ultima oara sa-l omoare.
