Review: The central concept of GHOST OF MAE NAK takes a popular Thai ghost story and spins it into a horror plot like so many other recent Asian horror films – long haired creepy girl, secrets hidden in the past, the need to protect a loved one from a vengeful spirit, etc. Right from the word go we know that this isn’t going to be the most original film ever made (even the story of this particular ghost itself has already been told in several Thai films such as NANG NAK), but luckily this is no reason to dismiss GHOST OF MAE NAK altogether.
